The Senate Joint Committee on Petroleum (Upstream, Downstream and Gas) is expected on April 25, 2017 to lay before the Senate it final report on the Petroleum Industry Governance Bill (which forms part of the proposed reforms that make up the extensive Petroleum Industry Bill) for its consideration and approval. Upon approval of the bill by the Senate, the bill will be sent to the House of Representatives (the lower chamber) for its approval. Once the approval of both houses has been procured, the final version will be sent to the President for his assent for the bill to become law.
