The Federal Government of Nigeria in line with its desire to increase its power generating capacity has approved the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET) and the new investors for the Qua Iboe Power Plant to be located in Akwa Ibom State. Nigerias power generation capacity is expected to increase by additional 540 megawatts (MW) once the power plant comes on stream in 2021.
