The Lagos State government is presently in negotiations with the Federal Government (FG) through the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) for grant of approval to take all the gas produced from Aje field located offshore in Lagos for the purpose of generating power for residential, commercial and industrial electricity consumers. This is aimed at achieving Lagos State Governments goal in generating a capacity of 3000 megawatts (Mw) to be able to sufficiently meet the power consumption requirements of Lagos State.
