The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has increased visa issuing centers and counters from one to two at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos in a bid to facilitate the inflow of foreigners into the country and end the usual long queues for immigration processes. Visas are now issued to foreigners on arrival at both the E and D wings of the airport instead of only the D wing.
This move by NIS has drastically reduced the number of foreigners who go to Nigerian embassies abroad, as many of them now prefer to get their visas on arrival at the airport.
