STATES OF THE FEDERATION HIKE RIGHT OF WAY CHARGES FOR TELCOS

14 states in Nigeria including Lagos, Osun, Ondo, Kaduna, Kano, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Kebbi, Gombe, Anambra, Rivers, Adamawa and Cross River have revised and hiked their Right of Way charges for telecommunications companies disregarding the resolution reached at the National Economic Council. The current rate for Right of Way is between N5000 to N6000 (an increase from N500 to N600 per linear meter. With the hike in Right of Way Charges, rates for voice calls, data plans and text messages will likely increase for subscribers.
