Further to the respective motions filed by Shell and Eni for the discharge of the exparte order made by a Nigerian Court for the temporary forfeiture of assets and the transfer of operations of OPL 245 owned by Shell and Eni, a Federal High Court of the Abuja Division before whom the motions were pending has reversed its initial ruling which retrieved the control of OPL 245 from Shell and ENI. Accordingly, the ownership and control of operations with respect to the oil block has effectively reverted back to the multinational companies.
