Shell and Eni file Motion for Discharge of an Exparte Order for forfeiture of assets and the transfer of operations of the OPL 245 field made against them

Further to  an Exparte Order made by a Nigerian Court for the temporary forfeiture of assets and the transfer of operations of OPL 245 owned by Shell and Eni (among others) to the Government of Nigeria, Shell and Eni have respectively filed their Motions praying the Court to discharge the said Exparte Order on the ground that not only were misrepresented material facts adduced in obtaining the ex-parte order but also there was a gross abuse of process and an abuse of power in obtaining the order by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The Motions by Shell and Eni are scheduled to be heard on February 27, 2017.
