OIL AND GAS OPERATORS SEEK EFFECTIVE LEGISLATIONS FOR NIGERIAN GAS DEVELOPMENT
September 29, 2017 Advocaat Law Practice

At the ongoing Nigeria Gas Summit, operators in the Nigerian oil and gas sector have called on the Federal Government to enact effective legislations to develop the Nigerian gas sector, stressing that the current Petroleum Act of 1969 prioritized crude oil production as opposed to gas development.

The operators argued that for the country to maximise its gas potential, all the political, regulatory, structural and fiscal challenges in the gas sector have to be addressed and all contractual or policy-based issues legislated.
