A Nigerian based arbitral tribunal has issued an award against Statoil, the Norwegian state oil firm over the redetermination of shares in the Agbami Oilfield deep offshore Nigeria. Statoil has been mandated to pay Chevron and Petrobras the sum of USD$1.1 billion thereby losing a 5.17 per cent stake in the Agbami oilfield.
