The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) is set to enforce the Meter Asset Provider Regulations, 2018, by April 2018. By this Regulation, power distribution companies will no longer have the sole responsibility of providing meters to electricity consumers as Meter Asset Providers have been brought into the Power Sector, to bridge the metering gap in the electricity supply industry.
