According to the data obtained from the Department of Petroleum Resources, ten oil block licences, including Oil Prospecting Licence (OPL) 245 otherwise known as Malabu oil block which are held by international and local firms will expire in 2020 and 2021. The oil block licences that will be due for renewal in 2020 are Oil Mining Lease (OML) 119 and OPLs 305, 306, 215 and 241 while OMLs 120, 121, 122, and OPL 245 will expire in 2021.
