The firm recently provided preliminary advice to a major tobacco manufacturing client on its proposed establishment of an Independent Power Plant (IPP) for the generation of power for its factories located at various sites around Nigeria. Our advice included the necessary licences and permits required for the project, the tax incentives available for the project, the legal and regulatory framework governing the project and the environmental issues.
