ALP is presently advising Cummins Cogeneration Limited in respect of its acquisition of a controlling stake in a power generation company in Nigeria. The generation licensee under the liberalized power sector is authorized to generate and distribute 20MW of electricity under the embedded electricity generation regulations.
The electricity sector in Nigeria is presently undergoing reforms which will be concluded with the privatization of existing generating and distribution business units whilst the transmission network will be concessioned to a management company.
